CANTO VIVO
Canto Vivo is a civil association created in the city of Lima-Peru on January 12, 1994 for educational purposes in favor of the environment, ecology and popular culture. We have been working for more than 20 years in environmental awareness and education aimed especially at children. We emphasize the harmonious coexistence of man with his surroundings, in consonance with his ancestral traditions, besides projecting these values to the whole of society, also resorting to the organization of cultural activities and diffusion of his artistic expressions. Our objective: To understand our relationship with the planet Earth, to understand that we are not outsiders to nature, that we are part of it and that we move and act with it.
PROJECTS
Social Conscience

Through the Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement, between the Judicial Power and Live Canto, mutual collaboration mechanisms are being created and developed that contribute to the process of social reintegration of adolescent offenders of the Youth Centers of the national scope, under the development of an educational model through workshops and activities to raise awareness in the care of the environment, the practice of sports and culture, in search of the integral development of the aforementioned adolescents. After the first awareness and environmental education workshops, adolescent offenders are planting trees internally and, in the medium term, will lead reforestation campaigns in parks and avenues of Metropolitan Lima.
Plantamonte

This was called the environmentalist crusade, designed in February 1994 by Canto Vivo, initially to replace the thousands of trees that were used in the traditional fiestas of the "cortamonte" or "yunsas". Today, converted into a true reforestation campaign, it is organized by various agencies of the central and regional governments and municipalities. With the slogan "If you cut a tree for your fun, plant many for life" we have carried out campaigns, mainly with children and adolescents, in Lima, Huancayo, Ayacucho and Lamas. Special thanks to our former Vice President Nelly Munguía San Miguel who led our various Plantamonte activities. The first Plantamonte was carried out in the district of Pilcomayo (Huancayo) on March 2, 1997.
Trinos y Alas del Mundo

With this denomination begins the project referred to the dissemination of radio programs of ecology and environment led by students. From the news of greater importance, which occur in the world and in the same region where students live, we take knowledge of environmental problems and then comment and form a favorable opinion to respect the environment. News, reflections, interviews and good music are interspersed in an entertaining way. The program, in charge of the students of the I.E. Luis A. Gómez González, was broadcasted through Millenium Radio of the jungle city of Lamas, San Martín Region. At present, this program will be broadcast by a station in the city of Lima with greater coverage.
